What is the difference between the holiday camp and weekly classes?

The holiday camp runs for five days, Monday to Friday, and is perfect for the post-PSLE break — your child completes a full project in one focused week. Weekly classes spread the same learning across regular sessions, which suits families who want a steady routine. Both are 1-on-1 and cover the same four project tracks, so you can choose what fits your child's schedule.

What equipment does my child need?

Your child needs a laptop or desktop computer with a stable internet connection, a webcam and a microphone. A quiet space to focus helps them get the most from each lesson. All software used is free and browser-based, so there is nothing extra to buy or install.

What coding activities can my child do after PSLE?

At AlphaGen, post-PSLE students can explore web development, game development, AI and machine learning, digital animation, Python programming and more. We tailor their learning to what your child is most excited to build.

What age group is this program for?

The Post-PSLE program is designed specifically for students who have just completed PSLE – typically aged 11 to 13. It bridges the gap before Secondary 1 starts.

Does my child need prior coding experience?

Not at all. We assess every student’s level before their first session and build a personalised programme from there. Complete beginners are very welcome.

Is it fully online or in-person?

Classes run fully online via Zoom. No travel required. Your child can join from home with any laptop or desktop computer.

How does the 1-on-1 format work?

Your child has a dedicated teacher for every session – live and online, via video call. There are no group classes, no pre-recorded videos and no waiting for attention. The entire session is focused entirely on your child.

How long is each session and what are the hours?

That would depend on what format of classes you prefer. Weekly classes are for 60 mins, done either once or twice a week. Camps run for 5 days, 90 minutes per day.

Do you teach robotics?

Yes – our Alpha Builders and Alpha Innovators programmes include hands-on robotics with BBC’s micro:bit and Arduino. We ship a physical kit directly to your home, and your child keeps it after the course. No need to travel to a centre; the hardware arrives at your door.
