In Minecraft Makers, students use Minecraft Education Edition to explore coding, design, and teamwork as they build imaginative worlds and solve real challenges. Guided by expert instructors, kids learn programming basics like loops and sequencing, all while developing creativity, resilience, and problem-solving skills in a familiar, engaging environment.
System Requirements
A laptop or tablet with connected keyboard and mouse, webcam, and a good Wi-Fi connection. Learners should be familiar with basic use of a laptop or desktop computer and how to use Zoom.
Minecraft Education Edition is a special version of Minecraft designed for learning. In this camp, students use it to build, code, and solve challenges together in a safe, collaborative environment-developing coding skills and creativity through guided activities and projects.
The learning benefits of Minecraft are as endless as the game itself. Aside from being a great way to introduce coding to kids, they also learn several different aspects including game design, city planning, sustainability and activate their creativity and critical thinking skills. Students will need a computer (Windows, Mac, Chromebook) that meets the Minecraft Education Edition system requirements, plus a reliable internet connection. No separate purchase is needed; the camp provides access to Minecraft Education Edition for all participants.
